CSR team building at Jackfruit Adventure combines meaningful community impact with hands-on team experiences, helping companies strengthen collaboration while supporting local communities across Vietnam. Rather than treating CSR as a separate volunteering activity, we design programmes where business objectives and social impact become part of the same experience.

Some companies already know the cause they’d like to support. Others simply want their annual team building to create something positive beyond the office. That’s where the planning begins. Instead of offering a standard package, we shape every programme around your team’s objectives, group size, available time, and the community you’ll be working with.

Below, you’ll find an overview of the CSR team building activities at Jackfruit Adventure, along with practical insights into how they’re delivered and the kinds of outcomes companies hope to achieve through them.

What Makes CSR Team Building Different?

CSR team building-Jackfruit Adventure

A CSR team building day can feel a lot like any other company event at the beginning. Teams are given a shared objective, people naturally divide responsibilities, and everyone gets involved in solving problems together. What makes it different is what those efforts lead to by the end of the day.

A traditional team building event usually ends when the final challenge is over. Teams compare scores, celebrate the winners, and head home with a few good memories. CSR team building doesn’t stop there. Many organisations are also choosing activities that align with their broader ESG commitments and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on sustainable communities and environmental stewardship.

That shift changes the way people experience the day.

Instead of asking, “How do we win?”, conversations naturally become, “How can we get this done together?” We’ve found that participants are often less concerned about who finishes first and more focused on making sure every task is completed well. People step into different roles, help teammates when plans change, and spend more time talking with the communities they’re supporting than looking at a leaderboard.

For companies, that’s often the biggest advantage. CSR team building activities still develop teamwork and communication, but they also give employees a shared experience that feels meaningful long after the event is over. Weeks later, colleagues are far more likely to talk about the people they met or the project they completed together than the score they achieved on the day.

CSR Team Building Activities at Jackfruit Adventure

No two companies approach CSR in quite the same way.

Some want to strengthen relationships within their teams. Others are looking for a programme that supports their ESG commitments or gives international delegates a chance to experience Vietnam beyond the conference room. That’s why our CSR experiences aren’t built around a single formula. Each one creates opportunities for people to work together while contributing to something that continues long after the event ends.

Here are four of the CSR team building activities we deliver most often.

1. Heart & Hands: Cook, Build & Share

Time: 3-6 hours · Setting: Indoor/Outdoor · Group: 8-250

A meal can do much more than bring a team together. It can also bring smiles to children who need it most.

Heart & Hands begins in one of the liveliest places in any Vietnamese neighbourhood: the local market. Armed with a map and a budget, teams work together to source ingredients and everyday essentials before making their way to the orphanage.

One thing we’ve noticed after running this programme for different corporate groups is that the market is often where the team starts to relax. At the beginning of the morning, people usually stay with colleagues they already know. Twenty or thirty minutes later, they’re comparing prices with local vendors, negotiating who buys what, and adjusting their shopping list as they go. By the time everyone leaves the market, the conversations already feel very different from the ones they had at the start of the day.

The experience continues at the orphanage, but no two programmes look exactly alike. Depending on the group’s interests and the needs of the community partner, some participants prepare and serve meals, while others help paint shared spaces, work in the garden, or organise simple arts and crafts activities with the children. That flexibility means everyone can contribute in a way that feels natural instead of being pushed into the same role.

Designed for groups of 8 to 250 participants, Heart & Hands runs for 3 to 6 hours, with an additional donation budget used to purchase food and supplies for the orphanage. It’s particularly well suited to companies looking for a CSR programme that combines cultural immersion, practical teamwork, and genuine community connection, while giving every participant a meaningful role throughout the day.

2. Impact Race: The Race with Purpose

Impact Race: The Race with Purpose

Time: 3-6 hours · Setting: Outdoor · Group: 8-250

Check dates & Book

Most Amazing Race programmes finish when the final clue is solved. Impact Race doesn’t.

The day starts with teams exploring Ho Chi Minh City, moving from District 1 into the streets of District 4. The setting changes quickly. Wide boulevards give way to narrow alleyways, local markets, and neighbourhood shops where participants have to ask questions, compare prices, and work together to complete each mission. Before long, the race feels less like sightseeing and more like experiencing a side of Saigon that many visitors never get to see.

The shopping list each team receives isn’t there to make the game more difficult. Every item will eventually be handed to children at a local orphanage. That simple detail changes the atmosphere throughout the day. People become a little more thoughtful about what they buy, whether they’ve chosen the right things, and how to make the most of the team’s budget. Success isn’t measured only by reaching the next checkpoint quickly, but also by knowing their decisions will matter to someone else later.

The visit to the orphanage comes at the end, but it never feels separate from the race. By then, participants already know where the gifts came from because they were the ones who searched for them, carried them through the city, and brought them to the final destination. The connection feels natural because it has been part of the programme from the very beginning, not something added on after the competition finishes.

Impact Race runs for around 3 to 6 hours and welcomes groups from 8 to 250 participants. It’s often chosen by companies that want to keep the energy of a city challenge while giving the experience a purpose that everyone can see and take part in together.

3. Island Guardians: Restoring the Hidden Island

Island Guardians: Restoring the Hidden Island

Time: 3-4 hours · Setting: Outdoor · Group: 8-250

Check dates & Book

Many people are surprised to discover that Ho Chi Minh City still has a place that feels like the Mekong Delta.

Just a short drive from the city centre, Thanh Da Island offers a quieter side of Saigon, and that’s where Island Guardians takes place.

Instead of competing against one another, teams work together to create a Legacy Mural designed with the local community. Before painting begins, participants meet local representatives to understand the story behind the neighbourhood and why the mural is being created. That briefing often changes the way people approach the activity. Rather than seeing it as a painting workshop, they begin thinking about what the finished artwork will mean to the people who walk past it every day.

Something our facilitators notice quite often is that the planning stage usually takes longer than clients expect. Teams spend time discussing colours, sketching ideas, and figuring out how different sections will connect before anyone picks up a brush. Once the painting starts, those conversations naturally continue as people help each other match colours, adjust details, or step back to check how the mural looks as a whole. It’s a collaborative process where communication matters just as much as creativity.

The programme finishes with a small celebration alongside local residents and community representatives, giving teams the chance to see the completed mural through the eyes of the people who will live with it long after the event has ended.

Designed for groups of 8 to 250 participants, Island Guardians runs for 3 to 4 hours. As every Legacy Mural is created for a specific community space, an additional donation budget is planned separately to cover wall preparation and painting materials. It’s a good fit for companies looking to leave behind something visible, lasting, and genuinely useful to the local community.

4. Looking for Something Else? Let’s Build It Together

Some companies arrive with a clear idea of the impact they’d like to create.

Others simply know they want their team building event to mean something more.

That’s usually where our planning begins.

Rather than asking clients to fit into an existing programme, we start by understanding the people taking part, the purpose of the event, and the community they’d like to support. Sometimes one of our existing CSR experiences is exactly the right fit. In other cases, we combine different elements or design something entirely new around the company’s objectives.

Because no two organisations share the same goals, we don’t believe CSR team building should follow a single template either. Whether the focus is community engagement, education, culture, or another social initiative, the aim is always the same: to create an experience that’s valuable for both the team and the community they work alongside.

Let’s start the conversation: Get in touch with us.

How We Design Every CSR Team Building Programme

team building activities-CSR team building-Jackfruit Adventure

Every CSR programme starts with a conversation. We begin by understanding your objectives, group size, event format, timeline, and any CSR or ESG priorities you already have. If you’re planning a conference or incentive trip, we’ll also consider how the activity fits naturally into the wider itinerary.

From there, we match your team with the right community partner or social initiative. Depending on your goals, that could involve supporting children, contributing to a local community project, or taking part in an environmental programme. Every partnership is carefully planned to ensure the experience creates genuine value for both your team and the people involved.

Once the direction is clear, we design the programme around it, refining the flow, logistics, and activities to suit your event. Sometimes one of our existing CSR team building activities is the perfect fit. Other times, we customise the programme so it feels like a seamless part of your event rather than an add-on.

See How Other Companies Have Brought CSR to Life

One of the first questions we’re usually asked isn’t about pricing or logistics.

It’s, “Have other companies done something similar?”

The answer is yes, but no two programmes have looked the same.

For Sanofi, the day centred around an orphanage. Teams picked up ingredients from a local market, cooked more than 100 meals, and spent time helping improve the space before sharing the day with the children. Microsoft took a completely different direction, turning its CSR team building into a carnival designed around games and activities for local kids. DBS focused on cooking, using food as the starting point for bringing colleagues and the community together.

Looking through these projects, you’ll probably notice that the activities change from one company to the next. What stays consistent is the way each programme is built around a real community need instead of asking every client to fit into the same format.

Is CSR Team Building Right for Your Team?

team building in ho chi minh city-CSR team building-Jackfruit Adventure

Not every company is looking for the same kind of team building experience.

Some groups thrive on competition. Others would rather spend the day creating something together or giving back to the community. Neither approach is better than the other – it simply depends on what you hope your event will achieve.

If making a positive impact is one of those goals, CSR team building is well worth considering. It offers all the benefits of a traditional team building programme while giving employees the chance to contribute to something beyond the workplace.

CSR team building works particularly well for companies that want employees to build stronger relationships while connecting with local communities in a genuine way. It also fits naturally into ESG initiatives, leadership retreats, incentive trips, and corporate gatherings where creating a shared sense of purpose matters just as much as strengthening teamwork.

If you’re still deciding what format would work best, that’s perfectly normal. Many of our programmes have started with nothing more than an initial conversation about what a company wanted their people to take away from the day.

Let’s Create Something Meaningful Together

Every team is different, and every community is too.
